Peach Cobbler

Written By Praveena Gudipati on Friday, April 13, 2018 | 11:34 PM

If you want an easy, yummy dessert for a party or just to indulge yourself this is one choice I would opt for. You can prep it in 10 minutes and pop it in oven just before guests come. By the time dinner/meal is done, your dessert is ready to eat.

Today I simply made it for my family. I got bored of Indian desserts and wanna make something different. It’s Just right size, right number of servings for a family of four :-). Well my kids don’t have a sweet tooth so I might end up taking 2 servings 😝.

Top it with Vanilla Ice cream or just dig into it as it is, it’s your choice.

And finally it came out perfect and everyone loved it.

Planning a Tea party, then pair it with Vegetable Pastry Puffs.

Servings:
4
Total time:
45 minutes (35 min baking time)

Ingredients:
  • 1 can (14 oz) peaches
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 5 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Unbleached flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 1 Egg
Peach Cobbler Recipe

  1. Pre heat oven to 350F
  2. Melt 1/4 th cup Butter.
  3. In a baking pan (I used Loaf Pan) place Peach slices in bottom. I used canned Peaches (14 oz can). You can also use fresh Peaches. I discarded the Syrup from can. Optionally you can save it, add to batter for more Peachy flavor.
  4. Add 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp melted butter to Peaches.
  5. In a bowl , add 1/2 cup Unbleached flour, 1/2 tsp Baking soda, pinch of salt, 4 tbsp sugar. Mix.
  6. Add 1 egg, 1/2 tsp Vanilla essence, rest of melted butter to the above bowl.

  7. Mix well. It’s a thick batter. I am aiming for a crispy top. If you want, you can thin batter with 2-3 tbsp Peach syrup or Milk.
  8. Pour/drop batter on top of Peaches.
  9. Spread with a Silicone Spatula to cover Peaches.
  10. Place in Pre heated oven, bake for 30-35 minutes till you see a golden brown top. If Mine took 32 minutes.
  11. Remove from Oven. Let it cool down to room temperature. Scoop out and serve as it is or with Ice cream on top.
Tips:
  • You can use Cinnamon powder instead Vanilla flavor.
  • Double the ingredients for more Servings and you can use a 8/8 or bigger Baking pan.
  • You can chop Peach slices and use smaller pieces if you prefer.
