Badam Halwa (Almond Halwa): Dessert under 15 minutes

Written By Praveena Gudipati on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 | 8:30 AM

Silky smooth , Melt in the mouth, rich and decadent; this is how I would describe this Almond Halwa AKA Almond pudding. It is a traditional Indian dessert where Almond are soaked, Skinned, ground and finally cooked. Already discouraged thinking what a chore it is, don’t. Because this dessert can be made so quick in 10 minutes with this magical ingredient I’m about to reveal.

Who doesn’t like a quick recipe? Especially when you invited guests and have to cook a lot, an easy dessert recipe always saves the day. Serve this dessert with some crunchy farsan (snack) and Tea, your evening Tea party is a success. If you want to pair a quick n healthy savory recipe with this try Dadpe Poha,  a no cook recipe except Tadka. Also Poha chivda (Chudwa), Mirchi BajjiCrunchy oven roasted chickpeasVegetable puffs will make a great combo. Great recipe for a quick Naivedyam, Potlucks, parties too.

Well the Magic ingredient is, Almond flour. With Gluten free products being on the rise, one awesome benefit is availability of Almond flour. It’s simply blanched Almonds ground to smooth powder.
It cuts down Badam Halwa making time substantially. You can use it in many baking recipes like Cakes, cookies and brownies. I mix it with Oatmeal to feed my lil one. Use it in gravies like Veg Kurma, To make Badam Katli, Semiya BadamKheer etc. I even mixed it with whipped cream which tasted like heaven. You can also use in smoothies, Peanut chutney for Idli, Dosa.
