Imagine a lunch box coming home empty, we will feel like we are on top of mount Everest.But it might not be possible all the time.Having two picky eaters at home I always think and come up with recipes incorporating healthy stuff, modifying traditional recipes.I would love to share those recipes with you. All these lunch ideas are my kids approved and nutritious/healthy in my perspective.
My usual way of packing a lunch box is pack a main entree with one or two sides which usually would be fruits or veggies.Once in a while I pamper him with cookies or chips:-).
So here are my 2 weeks worth of lunch box Ideas.each recipe has a link which will take you to the posted recipe. I also included a altogether basic ingredient list for whole 2 weeks. Along with these you need usual indian spices and seasonings like Chilli powder, salt, oil, mustard seeds etc.

Ingredients: (I use US standard measuring; 1cup=8oz=250ml)
For 2 weeks:
Idli Batter or Quinoa Idly Batter
Dosa Batter or Quinoa Dosa batter
Wheat Flour
Jowar flour/Millet flour
Semiya/Vermicelli
Big Croissants (I luv Costco croissants)
Firm Tofu
Carrots
Spinach
Cheese (any form,any variety)
Eggs
Frozen Indian green peas
Peanut powder (my recipe)
Onions
Peanuts
Split Bengal gram/ Senagapappu
Whole Urad with out skin ( minapa gundlu)
Brown rice
Idli rava (Cream of rice)
Green chillies
Sesame seeds
Cumin seeds

Kids lunch box recipes for 2 weeks with recipe links
Week 1Day 1: Idli with Peanut powder
Day 2: Veggi Dibbarotte
Day 3: Spinach Cheese Paratha
Day 4: Vegetable semiya Upma
Day 5: Stir fried Idli
Pack Kids snacks/Lunch sides along with lunch.
Week 2:
Day 6: Croissanwich
Day 7: Multigrain Atlu(Crepes)
Day 8: Tofu carrot paratha
Day 9: Egg Dosa
Day 10: Gunta ponganalu(Kuzhi Paniyaram)
Pack Kids Snacks/ Lunch sides along with lunch.
- Do any chopping the night before so you can save time in the morning.
- Make chapati dough the night before.
- You can shuffle the recipes the way you like to cover 2 weeks.
- The snacks are for your reference.Pick your kid's favorite and pack.
